«Eastern Azimuth: Economics, Sociology, Ethnology» (ISSN 3033-6015) is an academic peer-reviewed journal that serves as a platform for researchers specializing in the study of contemporary social processes in Asian Russia and East Asian countries in the following scientific fields:
— regional economics;
— world economics;
— economic sociology;
— demography;
— social structure, social institutions and processes;
— ethnology, anthropology and ethnography.
The journal is published quarterly in electronic form and is based at the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Science, Institute of Mongolian, Buddhist and Tibetan Studies of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It publishes original research articles, reviews and critiques. The main audience of the journal includes researchers, scientists, teachers, graduate students, and government officials interested in the development of Asian Russia and East Asian countries.
One of the journal’s strategic goals is to integrate economic, sociological and ethnological (cultural-anthropological) knowledge. It specializes in publishing scientific articles devoted to the processes of modernization and transformation of modern societies in Inner Asia. Special attention is paid to studies of culture, everyday life, economics, social structure and social institutions, and power. Works based on research using quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods are published.
The title in English is «Azimuth orientale».
