THE ROLE OF INTERAGENCY COOPERATION
IN THE ORGANIZATION OF A LONG-TERM CARE SYSTEM
FOR THE ELDERLY

The article examines the importance of interagency cooperation as a key aspect of the successful implementation of a long-term care system (LTCS). The current state of the long-term care system in the Republic of Buryatia, its main elements and participants, including the Ministry of Social Protection, the Ministry of Health, and local authorities, are analyzed. The advantages of interagency cooperation, such as an integrated approach to service provision, resource optimization, and improved access for the elderly, are considered. Additionally, existing problems are discussed, including the lack of a clear strategy, insufficient funding, and staffing shortages. The article emphasizes the need to create coordination centers and develop interaction mechanisms to improve the quality of life of the elderly and ensure their dignified care.
