An assessment of the possibilities of increasing the activity of local business in the border zone during the implementation of the new Strategy of spatial development is carried out. The permanent outflow of population from the eastern regions in the context of the expected reduction in the volume of funds redistributed between the subjects of the Russian Federation may threaten the economic security of border geostrategic territories.
