PROBLEMS AND POTENTIAL FOR DEVELOPMENT OF EASTERN MEDICINE
IN THE REPUBLIC OF BURYATIA

The article presents an analysis of the problems and potential for development of Eastern medicine in the Republic of Buryatia. A comprehensive analysis was conducted, including a study of global and Russian experience, statistical data, sociological methods (observation, expert survey), and SWOT analysis. Two key institutions participated in the study: the state budgetary institution «Center for Eastern Medicine» and the private clinic Ayurmedika LLC. The research results identified both problems and potential for development, and also allowed for the formulation of practical recommendations for the development of Eastern medicine in the region. A conclusion was drawn about the significant potential of Eastern medicine in the region, which is limited by shortcomings in public administration, material and technical support, and a personnel shortage. The successful development of regional Eastern medicine directly depends on strengthening scientific, technical, and investment cooperation with Asian countries, particularly within the framework of the «Russia – China – Mongolia» economic corridor.
