BURYAT LANGUAGE: STATUS, PROBLEMS AND DEVELOPMENT PROSPECTS

The article analyzes data from an expert survey conducted in the Republic of Buryatia at the end of 2024. It characterizes the current state of the Buryat language, identifies the main problems of its preservation, and presents the dynamics of expert opinions over the past three years regarding changes in the Buryat language over the last decade. Key recommendations from experts are provided to overcome existing barriers that hinder the active promotion of the Buryat language in all spheres of public life and the introduction of new effective measures for its improvement.

The article is devoted to the current issue of preserving and developing the Buryat language in the Republic of Buryatia. It presents data from an expert survey conducted in the cities and districts of the republic at the end of 2024. The authors provides a description of the current state of the Buryat language and identifies its main problems. Based on the analysis of open-ended questions, key recommendations from experts are provided to overcome existing barriers that hinder the active promotion of the Buryat language in all spheres of public life and the introduction of new effective measures to improve it.
