On July 4, 2025, the All-Russian scientific conference «The East of Russia at the Turning Point of Epochs: Experience, Problems, Prospects» was held in Ulan-Ude, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the first President of the Republic of Buryatia, Doctor of Economics, Professor Leonid Vasilyevich Potapov. The organizers proposed for discussion a series of presentations about L. V. Potapov, the historical significance of his personality in the fate of Buryatia and Russia, as well as a number of reports on current issues of the transformation of the East of Russia at the turn of the Soviet and post-Soviet epochs.
