THE BURYAT LANGUAGE AS A NATIONAL HERITAGE:
ON THE RESULTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE

The article presents the results of the International Scientific Conference “The Buryat Language as a National Heritage”, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of one of the leading Russian Mongolian scholars, Doctor of Philology, Professor L. D. Shagdarov (1930–2022) and the 150th anniversary of the creation of the chronicle by Vandan Yumsunov “Qori-yin arban nigen ečige-yin ǰon-u uγ iǰaγur-un tuγuǰi” – ‘The History of the Origin of the People of the Eleven Khorin Clans’ (1875) (Ulan-Ude, September 18–19, 2025). L. D. Shagdarov is the author of over 200 research works on various aspects of Buryat linguistics. The article also highlights another aspect of L. D. Shagdarov’s scientific activity as a researcher of written monuments of the Mongolian peoples.
